Denny and Lori's Shower

Last weeked, we helped host a wedding shower for our friends, Denny and Lori. We had the shower at Loca Luna in Little Rock and had a blast. It was great to see so many old friends and to meet some new ones. I have included some pics of the shower and will post some of their wedding in a few weeks.

We also got our crib and dresser in for the nursery this weekend. I had intended on Greg and his dad to put the crib together on Saturday while I was having our taxes done. Instead, it took Greg ALL DAY LONG to put together his new basketball goal. Go figure! haha! Apparently, Greg is preparing for our son's arrival with a basketball goal, which I'm certain he'll be using as an infant! (Greg got a little excited when he found out it was a boy)

We put the furniture together on Sunday, and it is just beautiful. The arrival of our son seems more real everyday - especially when I walk out of my bedroom everyday and see the furniture in the nursery. It will definitely be life changing having a little one around (but a good life change!) Of course, the baby news got especially real this week when I felt him MOVE FOR THE FIRST TIME! It was amazing. I was lying in bed and felt the little guy gettin' busy! Since then, I've felt it on and off every day.

I was in New Jersey this week for work. Traveling while prego is a different experience. The plane ride was rough - for some reason, being pregnant and flying can put a strain on a chic's body! Greg and I will be going to Orlando in a few weeks for a little R&R, and I'll be traveling a few more times while pregnant. It should be interesting!

Boys, Boys, Boys!

Looks like we're having a boy! I found out a couple of weeks ago and have had it confirmed since. Greg is obviously VERY excited. We were actually very shocked to find out. EVERYONE we know is having or has had a boy. So, of course, we thought....we'll be the girl! I, too, am thrilled to find out we'll have a son. I can't wait to start t-ball...years away, yes, but can't wait!

We had a big weekend this weekend too. Greg and I went to Oaklawn with Brooke and Jay, some friends of ours in Cabot. During the 9th race, Greg won $982 on a $3 bet!!! We were so shocked we didn't believe it until we went to cash in. Its the first time either of us has ever won "big money!"

Be still my heart....

Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to have another "freebie" ultrasound at a clinic I call on. People are so kind to pregnant women! Anyway, I was AMAZED at how much the baby has grown. You can scroll down the blog and compare the pictures to just seven weeks ago! The baby now has toes! Here are a few of my favorite shots!

Count 'em! Five little toes on that precious little foot.

This picture will make your heart melt. You can see the baby's little feet just sitting there, all nice and perfect! I'm probably going to frame this one!

And here's the big shot of the baby-- just chillin' in mommy's belly!

I just can't tell you how floored I am at the baby's development. You know this happens, but when its going on in your very own belly--- its just, well, a miracle!

Unbelievable story with much needed prayers!

Today, I got an email from a friend. She went to school with a couple whose family's story is probably the saddest I've ever heard. I'll post a brief version of their story, but I encourage you to check out their family blog. I warn you; its going to envoke tears, but this family needs your prayers and thoughts. So, I decided to post it. Surely, the more people praying for them the better, right?

Their first little girl, Madeline, was born in 2003. She was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer at 4 months of age. She fought the good fight, but died shortly after her first birthday. They then had a little boy, Grant, in 2006, who is doing well. In October 2008, they had another little girl, Annette. Unfortunately, just like her sister, at two months, she was diagnosed with malignant metastatic cancer. It is in her brain and in her spine. The doctors also feel that this is hereditary, so they are now going back to test their little boy. Annette has been given very poor odds of survival (about 10%) and Kirk and Natalie have already done this once. They are strong Christians and are depending on the Lord, but they need our prayers.

The family's blog is: http://www.maxeyweb.com/

Thank the Lord for your health and your family's health!
