Girls weekend!

Everyone kept telling me to spend some quality girl time before the baby arrives! So, a few weeks ago, I met Katy and Sarah (both dear friends from college and before) in Marion. We had so much fun. It was such a relaxing weekend of shopping, eating out and getting our nails done. If you have not been to the Melting Pot for dessert, I urge you--- GO! It was the most incredible dessert ever. We had a platter full of fruit, brownies, cheesecake, marshmellows- you name it, and a giant pot of melted chocolate, caramel and nuts. I mean, is there anything better??? It was a pregnant girl's dream, and according to Sarah- a non-pregnant girl's dream too!

We were so sad that Hillary, another old college roomie, was unable to come. Sadly, her grandfather passed away this weekend. We're all thinking about and praying for her family!

21 weeks and counting...

Baby Veazey is 19 weeks away from making his grand entrance! The time is really flying by, but I hear that it flies even faster after he's here. Hard to imagine.

Things are going great with the pregnancy. We have our next ultrasound in about three weeks, so that should be exciting. We've bought the crib and dresser, and I'm anxiously awaiting the baby bedding to come in. I hope I like it! I'm notorious for buying and returning things. I guess if that's the case, I better do it quickly!

Baby Boy Veazey still doesn't have a name, which is driving my mother and mother-in-law crazy. Not to mention, driving Greg and I nuts. Its just such a FINAL decision! I'm sure I'll know when I hear it. Our little bundle of joy does kick like crazy. There are days that he kicks ALL DAY LONG, which I love. I'll be sure to post the next ultrasound when we have it....

Who wants to go fast?

For Christmas this year, I got Greg a trip to the Richard Petty Driving School in Orlando. We went last weekend, so now its official- Greg is thinking he needs a career change! No, seriously, he had a great time and wants to go back.

We flew down to Orlando on Friday. Friday night, we went to Downtown Disney, ate dinner, etc. Then, Saturday morning, we headed over to the driving school for Greg to put in his 18 laps of high speed! He topped out at 127 miles/hour. That's the fastest they will allow you to drive, and to be honest- its the fastest I wanted to see him drive! There are some great pictures below.

We also got to lay out by the pool and do a little relaxing. It was PERFECT weather. What was not so perfect is a 5 month pregnant chic in a bathing suit! :)

Denny and Lori's Shower

Last weeked, we helped host a wedding shower for our friends, Denny and Lori. We had the shower at Loca Luna in Little Rock and had a blast. It was great to see so many old friends and to meet some new ones. I have included some pics of the shower and will post some of their wedding in a few weeks.

We also got our crib and dresser in for the nursery this weekend. I had intended on Greg and his dad to put the crib together on Saturday while I was having our taxes done. Instead, it took Greg ALL DAY LONG to put together his new basketball goal. Go figure! haha! Apparently, Greg is preparing for our son's arrival with a basketball goal, which I'm certain he'll be using as an infant! (Greg got a little excited when he found out it was a boy)

We put the furniture together on Sunday, and it is just beautiful. The arrival of our son seems more real everyday - especially when I walk out of my bedroom everyday and see the furniture in the nursery. It will definitely be life changing having a little one around (but a good life change!) Of course, the baby news got especially real this week when I felt him MOVE FOR THE FIRST TIME! It was amazing. I was lying in bed and felt the little guy gettin' busy! Since then, I've felt it on and off every day.

I was in New Jersey this week for work. Traveling while prego is a different experience. The plane ride was rough - for some reason, being pregnant and flying can put a strain on a chic's body! Greg and I will be going to Orlando in a few weeks for a little R&R, and I'll be traveling a few more times while pregnant. It should be interesting!
