Greg's 31st!

Yep, Greg is turning 31 on Monday, May 5! Wow! This weekend, we had our parents over to celebrate and cookout. Greg grilled up some mean fajitas, made some mojitos (for everyone but me of course), and we all cracked up at his nephew, Caden. I've included some fun pics of Caden. Isn't he a cutie?!?!

Who knew an exercise ball could be so much fun!!!

My parents were in town all weekend helping with the nursery and some other projects around the house. We recovered all my dining room chairs, hung the curtains my mom made for the nursery, fixed a kitchen chair, and took care of some other baby to-do's too! It was a weekend full of work, but I am so glad we got it all done. My mom is a life-saver when it comes to this stuff- she can do anything!

Roxy checking out the crib! Don't worry, she likes it! In fact, she spent half of Sunday afternoon asleep in front of it.

So you might ask...what else is new at the Veazey house? Well, our golden retriever, Roxy, now plays basketball! Seriously....Greg and I will be playing ball outside and Roxy will guard us. She even blocks your shot when you pull up to shoot. Our little guy will certainly learn some mad ball handling skills trying to learn to dribble around her!

Week 26 - Its confirmed! We're having a boy!

We were so fortunate to have found out the sex of the baby early in the pregnancy. But, I'll be honest, I've been having a reoccuring dream that he is really a she! Silly as it sounds, my dream/nightmare would have me running all over town trying to return the boy bedding, the boy clothing, and the boy bobby! I'd wake up in a panic everytime!

Friday, Greg and I had our 25-26 week ultrasound. Its definitely a boy! Ultrasound technology is amazing. We saw the four chambers of his little heart, all his little toes and even his nose, lips and chin! I've included a few of my favorite shots! A name for the little guy is still TBD!

If you look in the photo at the right, you can see his little hand making a "peace sign." Cute, huh?!?!

His manly parts! Definitely Greg's favorite picture of the little guy!

A cute profile shot. You can see his little legs are folded up next to his head. Flexible little guy, huh?!

Catching up...

Well, its been a few weeks since I've updated the blog, so I'll just give you the run down. The pregnancy is going great! I'm 26 weeks now and feeling good- with the small exception of the MASSIVE REFLUX. If you can imagine it, my little guy is catching all my food in my tummy and then THROWING it right back up my esophagus. I am guessing he's training for some career in baseball. He's going to be a short stop for sure!
We had a nice Easter in Marion. We got to see my family and watch the kiddos ride in this year's first horseshow. Sadly, Ashton broke her arm at church camp, so she's kind of out of the show loop for now. Hunter, on the other hand, was hillarious. He did GREAT, but his facial expressions are priceless.

Mom and I on Easter weekend. This is 24 weeks preggo.

Mom talking to her grandchild, Roxy!

The baby's nursery is starting to take shape. I started out strong- I was on top of the bedding, furniture, etc. Now, I am stuck. I need to get all the details done - artwork, window coverings, etc. I'm also seriously lacking some baby goods. I go to friends' houses and they have pack and plays, bouncers, toys, etc EVERYWHERE. Greg and I have zip. So, my very sweet husband got online this week and bought some of the things we need. He did all his research on consumerreports.com and got some cute little goodies. Now, we're just waiting on Mr. and Mrs. Fed Ex to deliver them right to our door. Can I tell you how much I LOVE online shopping!

We have several names we like, but none we have decided on. I'm so hesitant to pick something! Oh, well -I guess I still have time on that.

We also just found out that our cousins, Amanda and Jeffrey, are having their second. They are due in November, so our little guy will have a future playmate at holiday time! How great is that!! I tell Greg all the time that I REALLY REALLY REALLY want Amanda to have a boy. I have a sneaky suspicion Jeffrey wants that too....being a farmer and all!

We also went to a fundraiser last Saturday night for Juvenile Diabetes. I've included a pic from that evening, just to show you the preggo progress. The baby bump is growing weekly and hopefully is an indication of a healthy, happy little boy. We've been so fortunate to have a good pregnancy so far and to be blessed with a son. I'm so anxious to meet him....

And to top it all off, Greg and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary this week! Four years-- man, time flies by! He's a wonderful man, husband and soon-to-be daddy! I'm a lucky girl!

Girls weekend!

Everyone kept telling me to spend some quality girl time before the baby arrives! So, a few weeks ago, I met Katy and Sarah (both dear friends from college and before) in Marion. We had so much fun. It was such a relaxing weekend of shopping, eating out and getting our nails done. If you have not been to the Melting Pot for dessert, I urge you--- GO! It was the most incredible dessert ever. We had a platter full of fruit, brownies, cheesecake, marshmellows- you name it, and a giant pot of melted chocolate, caramel and nuts. I mean, is there anything better??? It was a pregnant girl's dream, and according to Sarah- a non-pregnant girl's dream too!

We were so sad that Hillary, another old college roomie, was unable to come. Sadly, her grandfather passed away this weekend. We're all thinking about and praying for her family!
