May and part of June!

Its been a while since I've posted. Mainly because I just haven't had the time, but secondly - my blog was a little messed up and I had to be bailed out. :) Big thanks to "Distinctly Pink Designs" for fixing the blog and getting me all pretty!

The last few weeks have been filled with time at the lake, playing outside and new jobs! As a reminder, I took a new job as a manager and NOW Greg has a new job with Boston Scientific. Sadly, Greg leaves for training for 7 weeks, so Jake and I will have to hold down the fort here without him. I'm sure we'll spend lots of afternoons playing on the slide and with sidewalk chalk - Jake's favorites!

Jake's been a busy little guy lately- learning something new everyday. Lately, he's become a lot better at saying "please" and "thank you." Don't get me wrong - we still have to do the ole "what do you say??" parenting trick, but he's coming along. He's also ON THE MOVE all the time. He loves to run around outside, climb on his play gym and chase Roxy. He is soooo much fun and constantly amazes me at what he knows how to say and do!

He has a couple of "funny faces" that he does on a routine basis, but I can't get him to do them when I want to take a picture! I'm still working on that... He has a "flirty/bashful" look that just cracks me up. We here around the Veazey house call it "The Look." So cute!

He's turning 2 next month, and I just can't believe it. It feels like I JUST brought him home! We're still kicking around ideas for a birthday party, but I'm sure we'll come up with something fun...and of course, post pics later!

Easter 2011

We had a wonderful Easter holiday. We love our church family and all their children. ALL THEIR CHILDREN. Ha!


Greg and I had nursery duty this Sunday and had 8 two year olds. FUN!!! We actually do enjoy keeping the nursery and playing with all the kids. I'm so grateful our church has such a big children's group, because I know Jake will grow up knowing so many friends from church!


After church, we went to Carlisle to spend the Easter holiday with Greg's family. We ate well (my mother-in-law is a GREAT cook) and played outside all day. Jake has some super sweet cousins who love him dearly! All this beautiful weather makes me ready to hit the lake this summer!

Because I haven't taken a "girls trip" in 10 years, because I have a wonderful husband, because I love to shop and dine out, or just because I was asked.... I WENT TO NYC!

Last week, I went to New York City with three other ladies for a long weekend get-a-way. It was AWESOME. We shopped, did some sight-seeing, ate at wonderful restaurants and went to the theatre. It was wonderful.

In January, my friend Helen said she wanted to go see New York. I, of course, was happy to oblige. I have been a couple of times before, but am always up for another short trip. I don't really enjoy NYC for longer than a few days -but a quick four day trip sounded perfect. And it was.

We ate at one of my favorite restaurants- NoBu- twice!!! They have two (well, 2-1/2) locations in NYC, so we visited them all. Literally. We also did some shopping - which, well - lets face it, is always a good time. I really enjoyed the time away and spending some quality time with some pretty terrific ladies.

Meanwhile, on the homefront - Greg (aka- dad of the year) was keeping Jake happy and occupied. They played outside, went to Nana's and even went out to eat. Of course, I was soooo excited to see them both when we got home. Unfortunately, Jake got pink eye at church that morning, so my first day home was spent at Children's Hospital's afterhours clinic. Oh, well! Parenthood 101- you take one small break and you WILL PAY! ha!

Wednesday Loves

So, I missed a Wednesday or two. I'm going to try the "Wednesday Loves" thing again... This Wednesday, I'm loving the song "East to West' by Casting Crowns. I like several of their songs and like all types of music. But for this week, I LOVE "East to West." http://youtu.be/s6zdihmwy1M Its been a really busy week for Greg and I, and Jake gets tubes on Friday! So, hopefully, we'll get some down time this weekend and REST. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some pictures from my NYC trip last week.
