Jake's First Halloween

Well, I have to say, Jake's first Halloween was a complete success! We took our little tiger to the harvest festival at church and then trick or treating in our neighborhood. He was a complete angel the entire time!
We invited Greg's sister, Tammy, her husband and their little boy, Caden, to join us. We also met our cousin, April, and her little boy, Jack. We all had a great time at the festival at church playing games and eating. Then, we came back to our neighborhood for a little trick or treating and visiting with the neighbors. Caden had a great time picking which houses he thought worthy of a visit from Woody (his costume!). Jake was just along for the ride!

I can't wait until next year when Jake's getting around on his own and can enjoy it all a little more!

(Ignore the order of the pictures...like so many other bloggers, I can't figure out how to put pics in the order I want them...at least now without spending hours trying!)

Down for the count at the festival. He woke back up for trick or treating though!

3 Months!

Jake is 3 months old today...wow! Time is flying by so quickly now. I'll admit, those first four weeks were brutal and went by sooooo slow. Now, its the weekend before I know it and even more sadly...closer to January when I go back to work. Boo!

Jake is getting so big. He can lay on his little tummy and hold his head up so well now. He looks around like a little turtle! He loves, loves, loves to practice standing. His little legs are like little linebacker legs, so standing is a breeze for this little guy! He babbles alot more now and really puts on a show while laying on his changing pad. That seems to be his happy place. He has recently discovered that he can hold things. Today, he held his little keys in his hands for over an hour--wouldn't even put them down to eat! Its pretty funny watching a baby take down a bottle and rattle keys at the same time.

Jake has started his "Your Baby Can Read" program now. If you haven't heard of it (and i hadn't), its a video/flash card series to teach kiddos to read. You can start them on it as early as 3 months....hence, we have started. I met a girl at church this morning that did it with her little one too. She swears it worked! (She wouldn't have lied..we were at church! ) ha! I'll keep you posted though. I don't expect him to be reading in the next month or anything...but it can't hurt, right?

Not sure what he weighs right now, but I'd guess around 14-15 pounds. He's eating 5 oz bottles and sleeping through the night a couple of times a week. On his off nights, he gets up once and crashes after the bottle. I really can't complain!

Happy 3 month birthday, sweet boy! We love you more and more each day!

Thankful Thursday

This Thursday, I'm gonna say I'm thankful for Jake! Obviously, you already know I'm thankful for this little guy-- I only write about him these days!

As I'm sure most moms would say...he has changed my life drastically. Don't get me wrong, I had a great life before, but its about so much more now! There are absolutely days that I'm exhausted, he's cranky and neither of us are happy....but I'm still sooooo in love with him!

Jake changes every day and learns new things constantly! Its so amazing!! I am shocked that there are actually people out there that have children and STILL don't believe in God. I find it impossible to believe they don't see His face in everything a child does!

Soooo...this Thursday, I'm thankful for Jake!

ASU Homecoming

Last weekend, we went to ASU's homecoming. Well, actually, we went to all the preliminary activities and skipped out on the game....I was missing Jake by then! Greg and I had a great time catching up with friends! Jared and Lindsey Woodard threw a fantastic party Friday night, and we tailgated some on Saturday. Then-- its back to Marion to see my little guy. Jake stayed at my parents house Friday night and got to hang out with his cousins, uncle and aunt and grandparents. My mom knew I would be anxious, so she emailed me pictures every couple of hours...thanks, Mom!

Here are a few she sent...
