One fish, Two fish

Jake and I have read "One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish" many, many times! The other night as he was "reading" it to me, he started licking his fingers to turn the page. Hilarious! Apparently, his teacher does that!

Tonight, as we were reading the SAME book, he stops me and says... "hey, mom- you are SUPPOSED to get wet in the bathtub. It's ok!". Ha! Thanks for clearing that up for me, bud!

Jake's vocabulary is expanding every day and he asks questions about everything! I know I hear "why?" at least 10 times a day!

He also loves to count things and especially likes to count backwards... I guess he is a fan of the countdown!

Facing the Giant

A few months ago, Jake developed a fear of Giants. We weren't really sure where he encountered a "giant," but nonetheless- they were his fear. He would tell us they lived in gutters and potholes and on occasion he we wake from a bad dream talking about giants.
Well, about a week ago, he said "mommy, giants aren't scary!" So, who knows what turned him??? This morning, we decided to take the giant breakfast. In all actuality, it was an excuse to get out of the house at 8 am after 24 hours of stomach virus! (yuck)
Jake decided the giant eats crackers and needed a letter to leave him. Jake dictated while I scribed... "dear giant, eat your crackers and make good choices! Love, Jake"

Taking out Gator to deliver the crackers to the gutter down the street! Yes- we also haul basketballs in the back!

We hope you are conquering your "giants" too! :)

FINALLY! A weekend at home.

We have been ON THE GO! Don't get me wrong- I love being busy, but a weekend at home sure was nice.

We decided to stick around the house this weekend and - I am glad we did. On Friday, we picked the kids up from school and went to Carino's to eat. Shortly after we ordered and right as I got my much anticipated Belini, Jake puked all over me. Dinner over.

Thankfully, it was a very short lived illness and we played hard the rest of the weekend. Greg was sick Saturday night, but was better by Sunday.

I spent the weekend making homemade baby food and cleaning, doing laundry, ironing and every other domestic chore I have been putting off.

I have the Baby Berezza from William Sonoma and it makes making baby food soooo easy! This weekend, I made sweet potatoes, zucchini, apples, avocado, sweet peas and squash.

We also tried out a new restaurant and fell in love!

And since we are the only American family with a toddler without a kiddie swimming pool, we took that plunge as well! Eli and Jake both enjoyed the pool and the warm weather!

We're wrapping up the weekend with a little shopping at Target and watching scooby-doo!
